The road to 2015 is near; come on, you
don’t need to check your calendar to confirm that, all you need to do is look
around; the social networks, the highways, the adverts boards, et al. all is
flooded with campaign adverts of various political parties, organizations and
aspirants who would like to be the highest shareholder in possessing the
‘National cake’ come 2015. This is a period when ‘power mongers’ will start
merging or forming an alliance to gain power at all cost; this is a period when
‘political thugs’ will start insulting Nigerians by offering to buy 4-8years of
their lives for a cup/bag of rice or worst still for as low as 1000naira; this
is also a period when our so-called politicians will begin to list out
thousands of agenda/propaganda instead of streamlining them to one or two
achievable agenda.
The same lists we have seen them presented as their political agenda in the past. We said we have being practicing democracy for over 15years now, but we see our so called ‘rulers’ in crazy demonstration of political power to oppress and to loot. That’s not all, they not only loot, but they use their loot in under-developing the country but developing other countries.

That’s not all, they not only loot, but they use their loot in under-developing the country but developing other countries.
The road to 2015 is also a period when
some Nigerians will shamefully sell their birth-right for stipends, while
others will turn themselves as tools to be used by political rogues for
election malpractices; many Nigerians will begin to give some obtuse idea on
why they should vote for this or that, such as; he had no shoes when he was
little; he is from the minority group; he never embezzled money when he used to
be a leader; no better candidate; he is from the north; she is a woman; no Igbo
must lead us; among plethora of other fatuous reasons why they should vote or
not vote a candidate. Many of these fatuous reason I belief will and cannot
affect the person’s performance when s/he assumes office.
I hear so many people point fingers here
and there; while others send praises here and there. This is a call for us stop
and listen to the music before dancing to its tune; the so-called leaders who
have turned themselves to rulers have in the past promised to provide for us
stable power supply, electricity, security, portable water supply, good roads,
standard education at a subsidize cost, a corrupt free political structure;
they even promised us heaven on earth. Are these things available or
implemented? I want you to be the judge of that, because you and I have lived
in this country since the so-called crazy demonstration of our leaders began
over 15years ago. Can we not put a stop to mediocre from our leaders? Sure, we
can!!!
Politics in Nigeria has been polluted
that even international observers and political critics even fear for the
future of the country; looking at what the youths have turned themselves into.
They turn themselves into toys in the hands of Nigerian politicians; we are
blind to the various problems the poor cum citizens’ face in our country and
are nonchalant about the future. We are nonchalant about what history will
write of us when we eventually get to the future. Our youth leaders are in
their small cave practicing embezzlement and all sort of immoral acts. Morality
has been long dead in the soul and heart of my people including the youths;
everybody is after the money and those that have the money are after more
money. Although, there are some small individuals striving to see that the
country does not continue to be eaten up by canker worms and parasites( those
who add no value to the country but still take and harm the country). The
‘muscle of a nation’ is far relaxed. The youths are sleeping and worst of it
all, we are silent. I do not need to tell us what to do; we all know what to
do. It is written in our heart, but it is either we are too timid, weak or
merely a coward to carry out that action. To the leaders, I do not have much to
tell you, just be certain of this, a time is coming that ‘the monkey will stop
eating the pill of banana but demand the full banana’.
